Zelma Rice

Zelma L. Rice February 26, 1928-February 12, 2015 Zelma L. Rice, 86, of New Carlisle, Indiana, formerly of LaPorte, died Thursday February 12, 2015 at Indiana University Health La Porte Hospital. She was born February 26, 1928 in Advance, Missouri, the daughter of Robert D. Harris and Julia (Ayles) Harris. Zelma was a member of Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW, National Home-VFW, and American Legion Auxiliary. On November 25, 1971, in South Bend, IN, she married Joe D. Rice who preceded her in death October 14, 1990. She is survived by her several nieces and nephews. Zelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, and three brothers. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. There will be no visitation. A Graveside Service will be held at Pine Lake Cemetery, Thursday February 19, 2015 at 2:00 pm. Burial of Ashes will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery LaPorte, Indiana.
