Winifred Evans

Mrs. Winifred A. Evans, age 83, of Rolling Prairie, Ind., died Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at 12:22 PM at Fountainview Terrace in La Porte, Ind. She was born December 5, 1922 in LaPorte, Ind. to the late Lloyd Poindexter and the late Harriett Ellis Poindexter. She has lived in the Rolling Prairie area since 1952. Mrs. Evans was employed by Whirlpool Corp. and retired in 1977. She was a member of Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church. She was also a member of Lionettes of Rolling Prairie, Indiana and graduated from Shoals High School. On October 7, 1945 in Shoals, Indiana she married Wilson W. Evans who preceded in death May 1, 2003. She is survived by her Three Sons, Mr. Fred Joann Evans of Rolling Prairie, Ind., Mr. Steve Kay Evans of Southlake, Texas, Mr. Charlie Candy Evans of La Porte, Ind.; Six Grandchildren, Mrs. Shari Rose, Mrs. Leigh Armbruster, Mr. Jeff Evans, Mr. Nate Evans, Mr. Brad Evans and Mr. Blake Evans. He has been preceded in death by her Parents, Husband and Two Sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, June 8, 2006. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Friday, June 9, 2006, Rev. David Tripp officiating. Interment will be at Rolling Prairie Cemetery in Rolling Prairie, Ind.
