Willie Womack

Mr. Willie H. Womack, 75, of Michigan City, Indiana formerly of LaPorte, IN. died Tuesday March 31, 2009 at The Arbors at Michigan City in Michigan City, IN. He was born October 19, 1933 in McMinnville, Tennessee, the son of Orah Womack and Dora Masters Womack, he had lived in the LaPorte area, since 1953, coming from Tennessee. Willie worked as a core maker at Teledyne Casting for forty-three years, retiring in 1996. Willie was a former member of the LaPorte Moose Lodge, he was an avid Cubs fan. In 1952, he married Verna Maxwell; they were married for thirteen years. He re-married on March 25, 1968, in Michigan City, IN. to Bonnie Hillman, who preceded him in death on February 23, 1996. He is survived by his daughter, Donna Brown of Mc Minnville, TN, son, H. Dean Donna Womack of Houston, TX, daughter, Linda Jim Wanamaker of McMinnville, TN, daughter, Karen Roberts of McMinnville, TN, daughter, Anita George Gerdom of McMinnville, TN, Twelve Grandchildren, Twelve Great-grandchildren, brother, Donnie Rae Ann Womack of La Porte, IN, brother, Sim Gloria Womack of Rolling Prairie, IN, brother, Robert Karen Womack of LaPorte, IN, Sister-in-law, Joan Womack of LaPorte, IN. Willie was preceded in death by his father and mother, first wife, Verna Womack, second wife, Bonnie Womack, sister, Ruth Donaldson, brother, Perry Womack and two grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday, April 4, 2009 from 9:00 am - 10:30 am. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., April 4, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Brandon Martin, officiating.
