Willie Boyd

Mr. Willie Boyd, age 72, of La Porte, Ind., died 2:08 PM Wednesday, October 10, 2007, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, Ind. He was born August 8, 1935 in Saint Francisville, LA to the late George Boyd and the late Martha Jones Boyd. He has lived most of his life in the LaPorte area. Mr. Boyd was employed by Teledyne Casting Service and was a member: of Greater Harvest Baptist Church. He was the Head Deacon at his church for many years, partner at the House of Praise Church. Enjoyed visiting with friends, dining out and visiting churches. On July 3, 1999 in LaPorte, Ind. he married Bessie Dye Young who survives. He is also survived by Four Step-daughters, Margaret Hunt of Kingsford Heights, Ind., Nettie Jackson of La Porte, Ind., Earnestine Goldstein of LaHabra Heights., Calif., Sharon Buchanan of Houston, Miss.; One Step-son, Joe L. Cooper of Goodyear, Ariz.; Two Sisters, Louise Bailey of La Porte, Ind., Martha Perry of Memphis, Tenn.; and One Brother, George Boyd of Olmsted, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents his first wife Odessa Boyd; step-son; two brothers and seven sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Saturday, October 13, 2007. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Saturday, October 13, 2007, Rev. Jesse Pate officiating. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
