William Charles Troy October 21, 1933-December 17, 2013 Mr. William Charles Troy, 80, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at LaPorte Hospital. He was born October 21, 1933 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Edward Troy and Clara (Peters) Troy. William worked as a design draftsman for 31 years at Berkel, Inc., retiring in 1995. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. William was an avid sports fan, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. On February 18, 1956, in LaPorte, IN, he married Leota (Heise) Troy, who preceded him in death June 28, 2006. He is survived by his 2 daughters - Kathryn (Jeffrey) Troy Bernel of La Porte, IN, Valerie A. Troy of Alameda, CA; 2 sons William M. (Carly) Troy of La Porte, IN, Mark E. Troy of La Porte, IN; 6 Grandchildren - Brian (Breck) Johnson of Fort Wayne, IN, Christina Johnson of Chicago, IL, Laura (Nicholas) Edquist of Chicago, IL, Tyler Troy of La Porte, IN, Kendall Troy of La Porte, IN., and Anton Troy of La Porte, IN. William was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and 3 sisters, Mary Martensen, Doris McAllister and Grace Zila. Arrangements are entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, December 20, 2013 from 9:00 a.m., until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday December 20, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev. Dennis Meyer officiating.
