William Snow

Mr. William J. Snow, age 80, of La Porte, Ind., died Thursday, March 9, 2006, at Countryside Place in La Porte, Ind. He was born April 26, 1925 in Rockwood Tenn. to the late William Snow and the late Mary Wimstt Snow. He has lived in the LaPorte area for 1 1/2 years moving here from Delray Beach, FL. Mr. Snow was the owner operator of Snow Concrete for 3 years and retired in 1981. He was a member of Member of the VFW In Florida, He wrote a book, titled "Small Town Lost", he played football in college, he loved watching the Miami Hurricane Football Team, he loved dancing, music, he loved all animals and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1943-1946. On July 5, 1968 in Palm Beach Florida to Lotus Virginia Bowers Smith who survives. He is also survived by Four Daughters, Mrs. Sheila Maury Hopkins of Tallahassee, Fla., Miss Shawn Snow of Gainesville, Fla., Miss Stephanie Snow of Cornelia, Ga., Mrs. Sandy Claude Ames of Union Mills, Ind.; Two Sons, Mr. Peter Snow of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mr. Tim Snow of Cornelia, Ga.; Ten grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; and One Sister, Mrs. Deloris Green of Delray Beach, Fla. He is preceded in death by his parents and one step-son, Robert Bower. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will host a Family Gathering from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM Monday, March 13, 2006.
