Mr. William L. Pawlak, 82, of 0712 E. CR 300 N., LaPorte, IN., died Monday Feb. 9, 2004 at 2:30 p.m. at his home. He was born Dec.26, 1921, in South Bend, IN., to Lawrence and Mary Kuchanczyk Pawlak, and has lived in the LaPorte area for 50 years coming from South Bend, IN. Mr. Pawlak retired from Studebaker after 18 years of service. He also had worked at South Bend Range for 18 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. during W.W. II, a member of the VFW Post #9820 of South Bend, American Legion Post #83 of LaPorte, and a member of the P.R.C.U. On Aug.22, 1951, in Evansville, IN., he married Josephine Koisk who died Aug. 5, 2002. Also preceded in death were his parents; one sister Lucille Lubaway; and one brother, Roman Pawlak. Surviving are two daughter, Susan Harley of LaPorte, and Carol Day of Columbus, IN.; four grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren. The funeral will be Thursday Feb. 12, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, with Rev. Freeman Schrock officiating. Friends may call Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service. Burial will be in Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, IN., where a Military Service will be conducted by the American Legion Post #83 of LaPorte.
