William J. Lloyd June 19, 1931-May 21, 2014 Mr. William J. Lloyd, 82, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday May 21, 2014 at Millers Merry Manor-New Carlisle. He was born June 19, 1931 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Frank Lloyd and Irene (Kuhnoffer) Lloyd. William worked as a foreman at Teledyne Casting Service for 50 years. Lloyd was a prospector, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and loved the outdoors. Lloyd devoted his life, supporting his family, which he loved very much. On March 26, 1949, in LaPorte, IN, he married Charlotte H. (Hakes) Lloyd who preceded him in death July 6, 2000. He is survived by his three sons, Donald Lloyd of La Porte, IN, Robert L. Lloyd of NC, Jerry Lloyd of Lafayette, IN; four daughters, Katherine Kaiser of Niles, MI, Linda Dilts of New Carlisle, IN, Kelly Labean of Flint, MI, and Tina Peter of Cresco, IA; twenty-two grandchildren; twenty- seven great- grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. William was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Charlotte and sons, Billy and David Lloyd, three brothers, Frank, David and Chuck Lloyd, and one sister, Ruth Lloyd, who died at the age of 10 years old. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, May 23, 2014 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday May 23, 2014 at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Greg Irwin, officiating Cremation will take place Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army of LaPorte 3240 Monroe St. La Porte, IN 46350.
