The funeral for Mr. William E. Kraus Jr., 54, of 2838 E. Ind. 2, Rolling Prairie, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Terry Loomis officiating. Mr. Kraus died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at 4:15 p.m. at LaPorte Hospital. Friends may call Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Moose Lodge 492 service at 7 p.m.; and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the service. Cremation will take place. He was born May 13, 1950, in LaPorte to William Sr. and Margaret Masterson Kraus, and had lived all his life in the LaPorte area. Mr. Kraus had been a security guard at Westville Correctional Center for one year. Before that he had worked in shipping and handling at Modine for 37 years. He was a member of American Legion Post 83, Moose Lodge 492 of La-Porte, UAW Local 390 of LaPorte, and UAWAFT Local 212 of Indianapolis. He enjoyed camping and was a huge Cubs fan. On Nov. 9, 1991, in Rolling Prairie, he married Lorlyn Evans, who survives. Also surviving are his mother and stepfather, Margaret and John Adcock of Lady Lake, Fla.; one daughter, Angie Keith Binion of Monterey, Ind.; two sons, Billy Kim and Nick, both of Rolling Prairie; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Maxine Gillotti of Lady Lake and Margaret Ann Snyder of Union Mills.
