William Fanning

Mr. William D. Fanning, 63, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday, December 1, 2009 at La Porte Hospital. He was born January 11, 1946 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of John W. Fanning and Winifred Budd Fanning. William worked for Sears, retiring in 1984. William was a die-hard Cubs fan. He was a loving father, grandfather, uncle and was loved by all. On September 11, 1971, in Chicago, IL, he married Donna E. Lee Fanning who preceded him in death. He is survived by his son, Scott Stacy Fanning of Gosport, IN, Michael Annmarie Fanning of La Porte, IN; one grandson, Logan Fanning of LaPorte, IN; one sister, Patricia Walter Weber; two brothers, Kenneth Laverne Fanning, James Fanning. William was preceded in death by his wife, parents and two sisters, Virginia Cass, Jacquelin Economakos and one brother, Jerry Fanning. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, December 4, 2009 from 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday December 4, 2009 at 6:00 p.m. Cremation will take place.
