William "Dub" Dyer February 16, 1929-December 4, 2019 Mr. William "Dub" Dyer, 90, of New Carlisle, IN, passed away Wednesday December 4, 2019 at Brentwood Assisted Living in La Porte, IN. He was born February 16, 1929 in Mineral Springs, Arkansas, the son of Cornelius Meeks Dyer and Tompie (Stone) Dyer. He was a member of the Wesleyan Church in New Carlisle, IN and Kingsford Heights American Legion Post 434. On April 19, 1952, in La Porte, IN, he married Lois James Dyer who survives. William's passion was fishing and catching the BIG fish. He enjoyed pitching in a softball league, playing pool, and riding his motorcycle. He always loved going back to Arkansas visiting his family. He is also survived by his two sons, Richard (Kathleen) Dyer of New Carlisle, IN, Daniel (Debra) Dyer of La Porte, IN; daughter, Terry (Kevin) O'Neil of Rolling Prairie, IN; two sisters, Ina Sturgill of La Porte, IN, Jeanette (Raymond) Webb of La Porte, IN; seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. William was preceded in death by his parents, five nieces and a nephew. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends on Sun, Dec 8 from 12 noon until 1 pm (CST) at the New Carlisle Wesleyan Church 32645 Early Rd. New Carlisle, IN. A life celebration will be held at 1 pm (CST) at the church. Military Honors will be presented at 1 pm. Cremation has taken place.
