William J. Davis July 27, 1933-January 15, 2010 Mr. William J. Davis, 76, of La Porte, Indiana, died Friday January 15, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Mishawaka, IN. He was born July 27, 1933 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the son of Ace and Mary Davis. William retired in 1991 as a Painter for Berkel Inc. where he worked for 36 years. He was a member of the First Church of God of LaPorte. William loved to travel and visit his grandchildren. He loved to fish, take walks and he was a former member of a bowling league. On March 17, 1951, in LaPorte, IN., he married Hulah Dyer Davis who preceded in death September 19, 2005. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Buss of La Porte, IN; son Michael Jeanette Davis of Milwaukie, OR; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and a brother Joseph Davis of Mishawaka, IN; William was preceded in death by his 10 brothers and sisters. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Wednesday, January 20, 2010 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Thursday, January 21, 2010 10:00 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday January 21, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Jeff Zigler officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
