William Adams

Mr. William M. "Mauri" Adams, age 84, of La Porte, Ind., died Saturday, December 13, 2008, at his residence in La Porte, Ind. surrounded by his family. He was born on October 9, 1924 in Clarks Hill, Ind. to the late Paul Adams and the late Neva Ream Adams. He had lived in the LaPorte, Ind. area, for Sixty-Five years. Mr. Adams was employed by Allis Chalmers for forty-two years and retired in 1983. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaPorte, Ind. "Mauri" enjoyed going to the Over Forty Club, he also enjoyed golfing, farming and wood crafting. He loved spending time with Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. On April 7, 1945 in Rensselaer, Ind., he married Ethel Warren, who survives. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Ethel Adams of LaPorte, Ind.; Three Sons, Mr. Robert Christine Adams of La Porte, Ind., Mr. William Christine Adams of LaPorte, Ind., Mr. Michael Adams of La Porte, Ind.; Four grandchildren, Paul Kristie Adams, Karen Adams Jeff, Erik Kendrick Adams, Brent Amy Adams; and Eight Great-grandchildren He is preceded in death by his Parents; Daughter-in-law Sandra Adams; brother, Robert Paul Adams; and a half-brother-Max Borntrager Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc.; 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. Family and Friends may call at Haverstock Funeral Home from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday, December 17, 2008 and from 9:30 AM Thursday until time of service. Funeral Service will at 10:30 AM Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Haverstock Funeral Home with Rev. Evan Lash, officiating. Burial will be in the Rolling Prairie Cemetery.
