Wilfred Sacks

Mr. Wilfred H. Sacks, age 88, of LaPorte, IN, died Monday, November 13, 2006, at LaPorte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born February 15, 1918, in Hanna, IN, to John Sacks and Lillie Wothke Sacks, who has preceded. Also preceded in death are three sisters, one brother, and his wife Mary Stielow Sacks. Mr. Sacks has lived all of his life in the LaPorte area. On August 30, 1941in LaPorte, IN, he was married to Mary Stielow, who preceded February 2, 2004. Mr. Sacks was employed by Allis Chalmers as a Quality Control Inspector.He was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ. He was a Veteran of US Army during WW II. Received the Purple Heart, good conduct medal, EAME Theater Ribbon, with five bronze campaign stars, served the 3rd Armor Division 44. Surviving are Two Daughters, Mrs. Karen Kim Dutchess of Ruskin, Fla, Mrs. Doris Tom Sacks-Wimmer of Noblesville, IN, One Son, Mr. Roger Sacks of Saline, Mich. Two Sisters, Mrs. Katherine Mrozinski of LaPorte, IN, Phyllis Bayer of LaPorte, IN, Two Brothers, John Sacks of Michigan City, IN, Brother-Norman Sacks of Florida. Mr. Sacks has Seven grandchildren, Paul Sacks, Kurt Sacks, Chris Sacks, Jeff Wimmer, Lynn Wimmer, Erika Haught, Breana Dutchess. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday, November 16, 2006, and from 11:00 AM Friday November 17, 2006 until time of service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 1:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2006 , with Rev. Helen Nusbaum officiating. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, IN.
