Wilfred Davis

Mr. Wilfred Lee "Fred" Davis, age 83, of LaPorte, Ind., died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at 1626 Ohio Street in La Porte, Ind. Mr. Davis was born June 8, 1924 in Niagara, WI, and is the son of the late Ray Davis and the late Lola Benham Davis. Also preceded in death is a daughter, Diane Kay Davis, sister, Helen Jones, Brother Elmo Davis. Mr. Davis first marriage was on June 17, 1945 in Royal Center, Ind, to Lois Russell who preceded on April 26, 1971. He remarried on November 2, 1973, in LaPorte, Ind, to Glenna Reed who survives. Mr. Davis was employed by Conrail Railroad as a car-repairman, for 39 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of First Christian Church of LaPorte. He was also a member of Maple City Lions Club. He loved woodworking and building things for everyone, his neighbors, friends and family. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Glenna Reed Davis; of LaPorte, Ind, One Daughter, Nancy Gene Eastham of Logansport, Ind. One Son, son-Scott Diana Shuey of Granger, Ind. One Brother, Isadore Davis of Royal Center, Ind. Seven grandchildren, Abbie Clinton Luczynski , Carly Shuey, Dina Pasley, Kandi McCoy, Lindsey Williams, Fallon Dore, Wendy Wallace. Mr Davis has Seven great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM & 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, April 20, 2008. Also from 9:00 AM Monday April 21, 2008 until time of service. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 11:00 AM Monday, April 21, 2008 , with Rev. Everett Shattuck officiating.
