Mr. Weber Rehlander, age 93, Canterbury Place Health Care Center of Valparaiso, Ind., formerly of LaPorte, died Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at 10:00 AM at Porter Valparaiso Hospital in Valparaiso, Ind. He was born March 26, 1912 in Mill Creek, Ind. to the late Ocha Rehlander and the late Mary Swanson Rehlander and he live most of his life in the LaPorte area. Mr. Rehlander was a Self-employed owner and operator of Valley Hills Golf Course for 7 years and retired in the early 1970's, he also worked at the Farm Bureau CO-OP, where he drove an oil truck from 1952 to 1984. He repaired lawn mowers until age 75. He was a self-taught man. He obtained 3 patents for lawnmowers Beltamatic Transmission for riding mowers. They never became produced because Hydraulic Transmission became new technology around the same time. On October 28, 1933 in LaPorte, Ind. he married Mearl C. Fredrickson who preceded him in death September 18, 1996. He is survived by his Four Daughters, Mrs. Lillie Dennis Lauer of Valparaiso, Ind., Mrs. Mona Bruce Seering of Stone Lake, Wis., Mrs. Carol Ray Brown of Tucson, Ariz., Judith Davis of Charleston, W. Va.; One Son, Mr. Calvin Ruth Rehlander of Tucson, Ariz.; Eleven grandchildren; Twenty Two great-grandchildren; One Brother, Mr. Paul Blane Mary Deming of New Mexico. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; Four Brothers, Nople, Virgil, Conn, Donald Rehlander; Two Sisters, Fawn Wagner and Bonnie Bach. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 3, 2006. Funeral service will be at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc. at 10:30 AM Saturday, March 4, 2006, Rev. Donald Williams officiating. Interment will be at Patton Cemetery in LaPorte, Ind.
