Wayne J. Korbal, 72, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021 at home with his family by his side in La Porte, IN.

He was born March 3, 1949 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Walter J. Korbal and Rose S. (Wiatrowski) Korbal.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 83, and the PNA Polish National Alliance. He also was a member of the National Hot Rod Association where in his younger years he competed as a drag racer himself. Wayne was the ultimate "Chicago Bears" fan. Wayne was a drummer and played in bands over the years.  But his love truly was for his wife Nora who precedes him in death.

On September 2, 1995, in La Porte, IN, he married Nora J. (Gesse) Korbal who preceded in death February 5, 2018.

He is survived by his two stepsons, Charles (Kathy) Brew of South Bend, IN, Richard (Gail) Vaughan of La Porte, IN; five stepdaughters, Carla (Fred) Hartley of Nicholls, GA, Charlotte Welsh of Nichols, GA; Patricia (Jay) Davis; Melinda (Ray) Clagg, and Lori Adkins; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A special "Thank you" to Rhonda Graves and family for all their support during Wayne's time.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. Cremation has taken place and a graveside service will be held at Pine Lake Cemetery where Military Honors will be presented at a date in the spring of 2022.
