Walter Shaw

Mr. Walter J. Shaw, 89, of 1404 W. 300 N., LaPorte, Indiana, passed away Saturday March 27, 2004 at Fountainview Terrace, LaPorte, Indiana. Mr. Shaw was born September 30, 1914, to Homer and Rose Arndt Shaw in LaPorte and had lived here all of his life. On September 30, 1944, in LaPorte, he married Charlotte Berg, who survives. Also surviving are two sons; Robert Linda Shaw of LaPorte and James Carol Shaw of Knox, two daughters; Rowena Chuck Meyers of Michigan City, Indiana and Lenore Hoy Howard of LaPorte, Indiana, twelve grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren, one brother; Homer Carolyn Shaw of LaPorte, one daughter-in-law; Nancy Shaw of LaPorte, Indiana, one sister-in-law; Francis Shaw of Virginia. Preceded in death were his parents, one son; William Shaw, two brothers; Albert and Leon Shaw, one sister; Fran Wiegel, and one great granddaughter Erika. Mr. Shaw had worked for the LaPorte School Corp., as head custodian for 30 years retiring in 1977, and then worked for Coleman Company as a burner assembly laborer. Friends may call Tuesday March 30, 2004 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Haverstock Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at the funeral home. Burial will take place at the Pine Lake Cemetery, in LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Jaycee?s Children?s Fund.
