Virginia R.Richardson, 93, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday June 1, 2010 in LaPorte. She was born September 27, 1916 in Terre Haute, Indiana, the daughter of Andrew Campbell and Mildred Parkhurst Campbell. Virginia had lived in the LaPorte area, since 1941, coming from Terre Haute, Indiana. Virginia worked for Whirlpool for twenty-eight years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, LaPorte Order of Eastern Star, charter member of Whirlpool Double Decade Club and a retiree of U.A.W. On April 11, 1936, in Terre Haute, IN, she married Hubert B. Richardson who preceded her in death July 5, 1992. She is survived by her daughter - Rosalie Gordon Glanders of La Porte, IN; son - Gary Patti Richardson of Huntington, IN; four grandchildren - Kimberly Noe, Lana Jeffery Ware, Douglas Richardson, Shawn Candy Richardson; eight great-grandchildren - Sara Noe, Megan Noe, Gordon Hendricks, Charles Hendricks, Kayla Ware, Nicholas Richardson, Eric Richardson, Brittany Richardson. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, husband and five sisters, Helen, Pauline, Louise, Henrietta and Josephine. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Friday, June 4, 2010 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, June 5, 2010 from 9:00 am, until time of services. An Eastern Star service will be held on Friday, June 4, 2010 at 7:00 pm. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday June 5, 2010 at 10:00 AM with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church 1225 Michigan Ave. La Porte, IN 46350.
