Virgie "Virginia" Stacy March 1, 1930-November 16, 2015 Virgie "Virginia" Stacy, 85, of Mill Creek, Indiana, passed away Monday November 16, 2015 at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN. She was born March 1, 1930 in Elm Rock, Kentucky, the daughter of Walter Howard and Arzonia (Combs) Howard. Virgie enjoyed baking, gardening, crocheting and quilting, she also loved being involved in her church. Virgie also loved cooking for her family and friends. On September 23, 1947, in Hazard, KY, she married James Stacy who preceded in death October 22, 1999. She is survived by her four daughters, Kim (John) Michiaels of Mill Creek, IN, Lora Bednarski of La Porte, IN, Janis Stacy of Philadelphia, PA, Shirley LeMond of Michigan City, IN; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; three sisters, Fay Judy of Fort Wayne, IN, Nadine Handshoe of Garrett, KY, Mallie Clemons of KY, and many nieces and nephews. Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Creasie Smith, seven brothers, Emul, Estill, Arthur, Dan, Hubert, Ray, J B Howard. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, November 20, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 21, 2015, from 1:00 pm, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday November 21, 2015 at 2:00 pm with Rev. Scotty Robertson and Rev. Ron Devenport, officiating. Interment will follow at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mill Creek Baptist Church 8762 E. 200 S. Mill Creek, IN 46365.
