Veronica Draves

Miss Veronica Marie "Ike" Draves, age 89, formerly of 115 Glendale Ave., Stillwell, Ind., died 3:43 PM Friday, November 11, 2005, at Countryside Place in La Porte, Ind. She was born March 17, 1916 in Stillwell, IN to the late Amel Draves and the late Catherine Campbell Draves. She has lived in the LaPorte area all of her life. Miss Draves was employed by Berkel, Inc. for 40 years as an accountant and retired in 1981. She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church of Walkerton, IN. She served as postmaster in Stillwell, IN. she was a devoted Bulls and I.U. Fan and a loving aunt. She is survived by Four Nieces, Four Nephew, Ten Great Nephews and 6 Great Nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents; Two Brothers, Amel J. Draves, Lawrence F. Draves; Two Sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Place, Mrs. Ellen June Caster; One Nephew; One Niece; and One Great Niece. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM Tuesday, November 15, 2005. A wake service will be held 4:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral service will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 16, 2005, Rev. Ian Williams officiating.
