Verl Ren

Mr. Verl "Dub" W. Ren, 88, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday July 4, 2009 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born April 21, 1921 in Francesville, Indiana, the son of William Ren and Bessie M. Burson Ren. He lived in the LaPorte area, all of his life. Verl worked as a welder for Allis-Chalmers for forty-years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of LaPorte. Verl loved gardening and yard work. He enjoyed fishing on his boat and traveling... On February 4, 1961 in Michigan City, IN., he married Joan Skinner Ren, who preceded him in death January 16, 2007. He is survived by his foster son, James Keller of La Porte, IN; one brother, Delmar Carol Ren of Casa Grande, AZ. Verl was preceded in death by his parents, wife; two sisters, Harriet and Nina; four brothers, Duane, Ralph, Harold and Wendall. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. A private graveside service will be held at a later date, with burial of ashes in the Pine Lake Cemetery.
