Treva McCullough July 17, 1931-July 16, 2014 Mrs. Treva McCullough, 82, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday July 16, 2014 at her home. She was born July 17, 1931 in Decoy, Kentucky, the daughter of Green Trusty and Ella (Stacy) Trusty. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the VFW Post #9423 in Rolling Prairie. Treva has been the LaPorte area, since 1951, coming from Knox, Indiana, she came to Indiana from Kentucky when she was 18 years old. She was a Homecare Giver for 28 years. Treva was an avid gardener. On August 15, 1951, in Knox, Indiana, she married Melvin McCullough, Sr. who preceded her in death May 16, 1981. She is survived by her two sons, Melvin McCullough, Jr. of Alexandria, VA, and Alvin McCullough of Tipton, IN; two daughters, Linda McCullough of La Porte, IN, and Brenda McCullough of La Porte, IN; three grandchildren; four great grandchildren; five sisters, Thelma Smith of North Judson, IN, Eva Howard of Demin, IN, Evelyn Trusty of North Judson, IN, Sarah Bailey of Merrillville, IN, Lonnie Allen of Jackson, KY; three brothers, Odis Trusty of Decoy, KY, Blaine Trusty of Jackson, KY, and Arthur Trusty of Decoy, KY. Treva was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sisters, Ellen Rose, Nokie Trusty, and one brother, Okie M. Trusty. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, July 18, 2014 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Saturday, July 19, 2014 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday July 19, 2014 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jo Ellyn Chadwick officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of LaPorte 1225 Michigan Avenue, LaPorte, Indiana 46350.
