Thomas Robinson

Mr. Thomas P. Robinson, 56, of 3314 Newburg Dr., Mishawaka, and formerly of LaPorte, died Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at 3:45 a.m. LaPorte County time at Hospice House of South Bend. He was born May 16, 1948, in Phoenix to Marion Jacob Sr. and Mary Buell Robinson, and had lived all his life in the LaPorte County area. Mr. Robinson retired in 2003 as a carpenter with Carpenters Union Local 413 after 30 years. He was associated mostly with Reith-Riley Construction in Valparaiso and also worked with the bridge builders division of several companies. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam era, serving as a sharpshooter and as a military policeman and K-9 handler. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter, enjoyed reading, and was an adored dad, brother and uncle. Surviving are two daughters, Heidi Terry Baldwin of Michigan City and Katie Zancan-Robinson of Mishawaka; one son, Zachary W. of Lafayette; one stepson, David Zancan of Mishawaka; four grandchildren, Matthew McGuire, Lily and Madison Baldwin and Seth Robinson II; three sisters, Becky Henning of Rolling Prairie, Beth Lehman of Mill Creek and Kim Peters of La-Porte; four brothers, Jake of LaPorte and Gary, Jan and Rob, all of Mill Creek; and his companion, Rosemary Zancan of Mishawaka. He was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Seth T. A memorial service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with Rev. Andy Kaser officiating.
