Thomas Raymond Forrester Sr. August 10, 1944-June 9, 2019 Thomas Raymond Forrester Sr., 74, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away Sunday, June 9, 2019. He was born August 10, 1944 in Michigan City, Indiana, the son of Raymond Thomas Forrester and Harriet (Pavlock) Witek. Tom married the love of his life Joan (Ronning) Forrester on October 7, 1967. Tom was in the United States army and proudly served his country from 1963-1965. He was a member of the American Legion Post 400 in Fish Lake. Tom was an employee at Berkel Inc. where he was a machinist/tool and dye maker for 37 years until retiring in 2000. Tom was known for his love of his family, making everyone laugh, and taking rides in the county and enjoying life to the fullest. He made his family strong and a bond never to be broken. He will be missed dearly by all. Tom is survived by his wife of 53 years, Joan (Ronning) Forrester, three sons, Jeffery Forrester of Walkerton, IN, Michael (Stacy) Forrester of New Carlisle, IN, Thomas Forrester, Jr. of Walkerton, IN; five grandchildren, Brooke, Holly, Jeremy, Michael, Logan; two great-grandchildren, Remi Dudley and Weston Dudley; two brothers, William Forrester of La Porte, IN, Jimmy Forrester of FL; two sisters, Beverly (Forrester) Avis of FL, Donna Forrester of FL. Tom was preceded in death by both his parents. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Indiana. The family will receive friends Friday, June 14, 2019 from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm. Prayers will be conducted by Rev. Ian Williams Friday, June 14, 2019 at 2:00 pm. A celebration of life will be held immediately following at the Fish Lake American Legion Post 400, 302 Lakeside Dr., Walkerton, Indiana 46574. Full military honors will be conducted at 4:00 pm at the American Legion Post 400. Interment will be held at a later date at the Kingsbury Cemetery.
