Sylvia Anderson

Sylvia Violet Anderson January 7, 1925-February 19, 2010 Mrs. Sylvia Violet Anderson, 85, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Friday February 19, 2010 at The Arbors of Michigan City. She was born January 7, 1925 in Porter Co., Indiana, the daughter of Earl F. Rhoda and Eva A. Wheeler Rhoda. Sylvia had lived in California for fifty years and moved to LaPorte in January of 1999. Sylvia worked as a data processing manager for Young's Market Co in Anaheim, CA for sixteen years, she retired in 1986. On August 3, 1946, in LaPorte, IN, she married Jess E. Anderson who preceded her in death November 13, 1970. She is survived by her step-daughter, Yvonne Walters of CA; nine nieces and nephews; two friends, Marjorie Patillo and Heidi Eidem, both of California. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents, husband; four sisters, Dorothy Rambo, Ella Mae Laughlin, Hazel Holtz, and Lillian Dray, two cousins, Eva Gast and Erma Heirbrandt. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday February 23, 2010 from 10:30 am until time of the service. Services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday February 23, 2010at Haverstock Funeral Home, with Rev. Doug Baker officiating. Interment will follow at the Kingsbury Cemetery, Kingsbury, Indiana.
