Susan C. Sanders December 26, 1945-May 24, 2015 Mrs. Susan C. Sanders, 69, of La Porte, Indiana, died Sunday May 24, 2015 at her home. She was born December 26, 1945 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Alfred Wolfenbarger and Pearl (Cavender) Wolfenbarger. Susan had worked for Whirlpool and American Home Foods. Susan loved to cook, cross stitch, and crocheting. She also enjoyed doing yard work, especially the flowers. Susan loved animals, and hummingbirds. She especially loved being with her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. On September 18, 1976, in LaPorte, IN, she married Douglas Sanders, Sr. who survives. She is also survived by her three sons, Douglas (Angela) Sanders II of La Porte, IN, Jimmie Adams of La Porte, IN, and Scott Adams of La Porte, IN; four grandchildren, Hayley (Tim) Gust, Thomas Dykstra, William Dykstra, and Paige Dykstra; two great-grandchildren, Parker Gust, and Willow Elliott; four brothers, Alfred (Lucy) Wolfenbarger of La Porte, IN, Michael (Vickie) Wolfenbarger of La Porte, IN, Edward Wolfenbarger of South Bend, IN, Theo Wolfenbarger of La Porte, IN. and one sister, Chris Wolfenbarger of LaPorte, IN. Susan was preceded in death by her parents, one grandson, Brandon Adams, three brothers, Richard and Robert Wolfenbarger, special brother, Donny Wolfenbarger, and one sister, Betty Kniefel. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN where the family will receive friends Wednesday, May 27, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Thursday, May 28, 2015, 10:00 am until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Thursday May 28, 2015 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Cremation will take place.
