Steven J. Kraus, 67, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Saturday March 16, 2024 at his home in La Porte, IN. with his wife by his side.

He was born September 13, 1956 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Ernie Kraus and Lora (Orcutt) Kraus.

Steve loved to go fishing and going to the park with his dog Joey. Steve retired from New York Blowers after many years of service.  

Steve is survived by his wife Anita, his children Julie (Matt) Hopkins; son Josh Kraus; 2 grandchildren Kristopher and Corinna Hopkins; 2 sisters, Christina (James) Caudill and Nikki (Shawn) Bush; brother Roger Kraus; as well as many uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; also his beloved dog Joey. 

Steve was preceded in death by his father Ernie, and two brothers.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN.  A life celebration will be held at a later time. Cremation has taken place.
