Shirley Kaczmarek

Mrs. Shirley L. Kaczmarek, 71, of La Porte, Indiana, died Wednesday January 6, 2010 at La Porte Hospital. She was born September 9, 1938 in Cook Co., Illinois, the daughter of Albert Johnston and Lola Rogers Johnston. Shirley worked for Al's East Supermarket. Shirley enjoyed doing crafts, sewing and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.. On June 28, 1958, in Corinth, Mississippi, she married James Kaczmarek, who survives. She is also survived by her son, Russ Carol Kaczmarek of Rolling Prairie, IN; two daughters, Cathy Michael Petrie of LaPorte, IN, Vickie Izy DuBois of Winamac, IN; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren and one brother, David Johnston of Huntley, IL. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; great-granddaughter, Katie Schoof and sister-in-law, Kathleen Johnston. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Saturday, January 9, 2010 from 9:00 am, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home on, Saturday January 9, 2010 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Steven Laue officiating.
