Shirley Heminger

Shirley E. Heminger May 29, 1932-July 30, 2016 Mrs. Shirley E. Heminger, 84, of Hudson Lake, Indiana, passed away peacefully Saturday July 30, 2016 in her home. She was born May 29, 1932 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Newton Tibbs and Cecil Katheryn (McGarity) Tibbs. Shirley worked at American Home Foods for 6 years. She was a member of the Hudson Lake Mennonite Church and was a member of the Swanson Center Fun Follies. She loved to dance, do crafts, play board games, and go bowling with her family. On June 4, 1949, in La Porte, IN, she married Arthur Heminger who survives. She is also survived by her three daughters, Linda (Bradley) Kenyon, Elizabeth "Ann" (Michael) Bromley, Ruth Heminger; three sons, Wayne (Roberta) Heminger, Garry (Sandra) Heminger, Matthew "Scott" Heminger; fifteen grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; two brothers, Floyd Tibbs, Edward Tibbs; and son-in-law, Gary Bee. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, JoEllen Bee, 5 sisters and 3 brothers. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. A life celebration will be held at Hudson Lake Mennonite Church, 7503 N. Walker Rd., Hudson Lake, IN, Thursday August 4, 2016 at 4:00 pm (CDT) with Pastor Esther Lanting officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the VNA Hospice.
