Sarah Dmitras

Mrs. Sarah E. "Betty" Dmitras, 90, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Saturday April 11, 2009 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. She was born April 26, 1918 in Arcola, Illinois, the daughter of Charles Wesch and Pearl Eslinger Wesch. Sarah retired in 1978 as an Event Planner for La Porte Park and Recreation Dept. where she worked for 22 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Ada Circle of the church, Board Member of the Historical Society, LaPorte Travel and Camera Club, Charter member of the LaPorte Hospital Aux., Lions Club and the High School Booster Club. On October 24, 1936, in La Porte, IN, she married William J. Dmitras who preceded in death December 12, 1981. She is survived by her nephew William Carol Wesch of La Porte, IN; and great-niece Janice Montez of La Porte, IN; Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers, Carl B. Wesch; and Robert Wesch. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, April 14, 2009 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm & Wednesday, April 15, 2009 9:30 am until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., April 15, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Evan Lash officiating. Interment will follow in the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
