Sandra A. Tarnow January 3, 1942-May 28, 2019 Sandra A. Tarnow, 77, of La Porte, IN, passed away Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at her home in La Porte, IN. She was born January 3, 1942 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Walter Ross and Mabel (Popka) Ross. Sandra was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, American Legion, PNA, PRCU, Polish Falcons, and the Walter League Choir. She enjoyed coin and stamp collecting, she loved art, painting, drawing and music. Sandra played the violin, sang in choir, and performed in plays "Little Women" and "Angel". Sandra loved spending time with family at reunions and family summer picnics, along with spending time with friends and neighbors playing cards and bingo. In May of 1960, in La Porte, she married Herbert Tarnow who preceded her in death April 12, 2000. She is survived by her two daughters, Chrystal (Curt) Ackerman of La Porte, IN, Ginger (Todd) Ransom of La Porte, IN; five grandchildren, Olivia, Nikolas, T.J., Benjamin, Katie (Nick); seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Sandra was preceded in death by both her parents, two sisters, Ruth Herring, and Helen Carleton, and two brothers, Jack and Harold Ross. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, May 31, 2019, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday May 31, 2019 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery.
