Sally Lou Holtz March 1, 1949-January 9, 2015 Ms. Sally Lou Holtz, 65, of Westville, Indiana, died after a year long battle with cancer on Friday January 9, 2015 at the VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso, IN. She was born March 1, 1949 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Ralph Holtz and Lucille (Raymond) Holtz. Sally was an amazing, loving, caring mother and friend. She was the glue that held her family together and will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Sally graduated from La Porte High School, and was a drum majorette for the Maple City Cadet's Drum and Bugle Corp. Sally worked for about 8 years for Westville Schools, and then Graycor Inc. before become a slot supervisor at Blue Chip Casino. In the last few years, Sally worked part-time at the Warehouse in La Porte--Serving up pizza and her contagious smile! She is survived by her daughter, Kelly (Loren) Woloszyn of Westville, IN; son, Jason (Nicole) Jonas of Hanna, IN; eight sisters, Marleen Alsfasser of South Bend, IN, Judy Gearhart of Hamlet, IN, Cherie (Jerry) Hoover of Hanna, IN, Karin (Jim) Carney of Nappanee, IN, Deb Holtz of Chesterton, IN, Cathy (Mark) Rogers of Bellville, IL, Cindy (Andy) Eichelberg of Westville, IN, and Sue Caddo of La Porte, IN; two brothers, Ralph "Buz" (Tina) Holtz of Valparaiso, IN, Jeff (Cindy) Holtz of Phoenix, AZ; four grandchildren, Nick and Sarah Woloszyn, Olivia and Matthew Jonas. Sally was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Mary Rishling. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Friday, January 16, 2015, from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Saturday, January 17, 2015, from 9:00 am - 10:30 am. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Saturday January 17, 2015 at 10:30 am with Pastor Darren Williams officiating.
