Ruth Ramsey

Mrs. Ruth M. Ramsey, 93, of La Porte, Indiana, peacefully passed at her home on Wednesday May 20, 2009. She was born September 23, 1915 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Edward Bauch and Lena May Wade Bauch, living in the LaPorte area, all of her life. Ruth worked as a Nursing Assistant for LaPorte Hospital for thirty-two years, retiring in 1980. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Hospital Retirees Club and Friendship Club. Ruth was an avid Cubs fan, enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. On April 18, 1942, in LaPorte, IN., she married Henry Ramsey who preceded her in death November 28, 1970. She is survived by her daughter, Betty Jean Wood of Colorado Springs, CO.; son, Gene Ramsey of La Porte, IN.; two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchild, Denise Wood; three sisters, Pat Koeppen, Mary McDonald, Lena Dixon; two brothers, Louis and Donald Bauch. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Monday, May 25, 2009 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Tuesday, May 26, 2009 from 9:00 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday May 26, 2009 at 10:00 am with Rev. Dorothy Jones officiating.
