Ruth Opel Mitch May 17, 1927-May 27, 2013 Mrs. Ruth Opel Mitch, 86, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday May 27, 2013 at Golden Living Center-Countryside, LaPorte, IN. Ruth had lived in Des Moines, Iowa for 36 years. She was born May 17, 1927 in La Porte, Indiana, the daughter of Charles Wiltfong and Lilly I. (Kimmel) Wiltfong. Ruth worked 7 years as a registered nurse for New Oaks Care Center. She is survived by her 2 sisters - Betsy Stevens of La Porte, IN, and Frona Willis of Tempe, AZ. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Mary Freese and 4 brothers. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Tuesday, June 4, 2013 from 9:00 am, until time of service A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Tuesday June 4, 2013 at 11:00 am with Rev.
