Russell Mccullough

Mr. Russell A. McCullough Sr., 82, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Saturday, January 23, 2010 at Our Lady of Peace Hospital in Mishawaka, IN. He was born December 27, 1927 in Knox, Indiana, the son of John McCullough and Pansy Armentrout McCullough. He lived in the LaPorte area, all of his life. Russell worked at New York Blower for nineteen years, retiring in 1990. Russell enjoyed gardening, fishing, building bicycles, mechanics, tinkering, and spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the US Army during WW II. On August 3, 1947, in LaPorte, IN, he married Edna Hakes, who survives. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Russell McCullough of Hamlet, Indiana, Larry McCullough of Florida; three daughters, Pat Dennis Reed of Nebraska, Vicki Lain of Rolling Prairie, Indiana, Susan Billy Adams of Kingsford Heights, Indiana; twenty-nine grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and ten brothers and sisters. Russell was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Katheryn Newland, three siblings and son-in-law, Frosty Lain. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, January 26, 2010 from 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm & Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 11:00 am, until time of services. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday January 27, 2010 at 1:00 PM. A military service will be conducted by the VFW and American Legion Honor Guard at the Patton Cemetery.
