Ruby Schroeder

Mrs. Ruby Marie Schroeder, age 90, of La Porte, Ind., died Sunday, May 18, 2008, at Golden Living Center of LaPorte, Ind. She was born November 17, 1917 in Monee, Ill. to the late Fred Schultz and the late Emma Terock Schultz. She has lived in the LaPorte Area for 62 years, coming from Chicago Heights, Ill. Mrs. Schroeder was employed by Plimpton Press. Over her life time she had worked for several companies, she did housekeeping and catering and spent many years as a babysitter for 3 little girls. She was a member of Grace Baptist Church and loved volunteering for church projects. Om March 4, 1942 in Chicago Heights, Ill. she married Clarence Schroeder who preceded in death December 11, 1976. She is survived by her Daughter, Mrs. Patricia Les Ames of La Porte, Ind.; One Son, Mr. Robert Carole Schroeder of La Porte, Ind.; Six grandchildren; Eight great-grandchildren; Two great-great grandchildren; Sister, Ms. Bernice Payson of Cassopolis, Mich. She is preceded in death by her Parents; Husband; Daughter, Linda Schroeder; Brother, Fred Schultz; Two Sisters, Mildred and Bernice Payson and one Great Grandchild Sara. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Grace Baptist Church. Funeral service will be at Grace Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Thursday, May 22, 2008, Pastor Don Kakavecos officiating. Interment will be at Rolling Prairie Cemetery in Rolling Prairie, Ind.
