Rosemary Miller

Rosemary Elizabeth Miller August 6, 1930-June 3, 2014 Mrs. Rosemary Elizabeth Miller, 83, of La Porte, Indiana, died Tuesday June 3, 2014 at Golden Living Center Fountainview with her family by her side. She was born August 6, 1930 in Emporia, Kansas, the daughter of Clarence I. Slack and Thelma E. (Cunningham) Slack. Rosemary was a member of Salem Chapel United Methodist Church and a was a member of the Home Extension Clubs. Rosemary was a very devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, her family meant everything to her. She was a very devoted Christian person, very social, and was very active in her church. On December 25, 1949, in Emporia, Kansas, she married Gene J. Miller who preceded her in death January 26, 2004. Rosemary and Gene celebrated 54 years of marriage in 2003. She is survived by her four daughters, Debra (Craig) Kuta of La Porte, IN, Karen Rigler of La Porte, IN, Shari (Mike) Mullen of La Porte, IN, Susan (Darrell) Kaiser of Union Mills, IN; son, Terry (Linda) Miller of La Porte, IN; fourteen grandchildren, Brett, Scott, Kevin Kaiser, Andrew, Jay, Lisa-Marie Mullen, , Krista Saleet, Kayla Praschak, Dusty Koepke, Ryan Gene Miller, Matt Mrozinski, Amanda Peterson, David, and William Kuta, twelve great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Bonnie Piech of South Bend, IN; three brother-in-laws, Charles Smith of Emporia, KS, Jack Miller of La Porte, IN, Duane LeDoux of Boston, MA; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, husband and one sister, Geraldine Smith. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, June 8, 2014 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Monday, June 9, 2014 from 10:00, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday June 9, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert Raschka officiating. Interment will follow at the Patton Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
