Rose M. Gerrish, 101, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Aperion Care-Arbors of Michigan City, IN.

She was born March 19, 1920 in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, the daughter of Clifford LaJoice and Flora (LaMieux) LaJoice.

She was a long standing member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Michigan devoted to her Catholic faith. Rose was honored to be the longest living member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Michigan before moving to Indiana. She was a member of the Women's Bowling League in Sault Saint Marie, MI. for 54 years. She was a member of the country club, golf leagues, and bridge club. She enjoyed golfing, ice skating, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, reading and gardening.

On April 11, 1940, in Sault Saint Marie, Michigan, she married Andrew Gerrish who preceded in death.

She is survived by her two daughters, Ann Marie (Thomas) Bour of La Porte, IN, Brenda (William) Stratton of Norton Shores, MI; a son, Robert (Fran) Gerrish of Jackson, MI; 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Florence Braun, sister, Ellma Rand, and a son Paul Gerrish.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN.  A visitation will be held on Friday, November 12 from 10 am until 11 am. A life celebration will take place on Friday, November 12 at the funeral home with Father Edquist with St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating. Cremation has taken place.
