Ronald L. Hoffman December 23, 1935 - October 10, 2016 Ronald L. Hoffman age 80, peacefully passed away on Monday, October 10, 2016. He is survived by his loving sister, Margaret (late Henry) Kaber; aunt, Dorothy Hoffmann; niece, Cheryl (Carl) Johnson; great nephews, Kyle Johnson and Mark (Tara) Johnson; great nieces, Samantha (JR) Carmickle and Cynthia (Joey) Archambeault; cousins, Jane Rowe, Fred Camerer and Linda Lane. Preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Mildred Hoffman; brother, John Hoffman; uncles, Fred Hoffmann and Herbert (late Ruth) Smelter. Ronald was born in La Porte, IN on December 23, 1935 to Joseph and Mildred (nee Smelter) Hoffman. He was a 1956 graduate of Rolling Prairie High School. Ronald retired from American Home Foods with over 20 years of service. He was a member of People to People, the former Camera Club and the former St. Paul's United Church of Christ in La Porte. Ronald loved to draw and do art work and gardening. He and his dog Snickers enjoyed visiting with friends at Kesling Park in La Porte and spending time with family. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 10:00 AM at Haverstock Funeral Home 602 Maple Avenue La Porte, IN with Pastor Roger Ash officiating. Interment to follow at Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, IN. Friends are invited to meet with the family on Tuesday, October 18, 2016 from 4:00-8:00 PM and on Wednesday morning from 9:00 AM until time of service at the funeral home.
