Ronald A Gigliotti June 22, 1938-July 15, 2016 Mr. Ronald A Gigliotti, 78, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday July 15, 2016 at his home. He was born June 22, 1938 in North Adams, Massachusetts, the son of Amadeo (Andrew) Gigliotti and Emilia (Grande) Gigliotti. Ron was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church, served on the Parish Council for 3 years; Military Veteran -AirForce Captain from 1960-1967; past president of the Rotary Club of La Porte and a member for 32 years he served on the Scholarship Award committee; served on the La Porte School Board 2002-2010, School Board President for 1 year; Co-Founder of LaPorte Industrial Coalition; Enterprise Board of Directors where he held Presidency for 1 year; YMCA Board of Directors; LaPorte Chamber of Commerce - held office of Vice President; Library Board of Directors- held office of Vice President; Voluteered with Junior Achievement at Boston Middle School; and volunteered for Lunch Buddy Program at Handley School. Ron won the Clem Otolski Business Person of the Year Award. He was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed attending LaPorte Slicer baseball games. He was a Stamp Collector and he was a member of 3 Stamp Clubs in South Bend and Highland. He enjoyed Traveling to Florida and Mexico. On August 11, 1990, in La Porte, he married Mary C.Gnatt Gigliotti who survives. He is also survived by his two daughters, Carolyn (Dan) Hohe, Charlene (Mark) La Fontant; son, Robert (Rachel) Gigliotti; stepdaughter, Amanda (John) Penziol; stepson, Brandon Jones; thirteen Grandchildren, Mason Jones, Brooklin Jones, Kai Jones, Ava Penziol, Addison Penziol, Aiden Penziol, Michael Hohe, Rachel Hohe, Lexi Hohe, Andrew Hohe, Gemma La Fontant, Josie La Fontant, Lilliana Gigliotti; brother, Alan (Jackie) Gigliotti; and nine nieces and nephews. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Andrew Gigliotti. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, IN. A Mass will be held at St. Peter's Catholic Church, Wednesday July 20, 2016 at 12:00 pm with Father Ian Williams officiating. Private burial of ashes will be held at a later date.
