Ronald Conrad, 64, of Walkerton, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 5, 2025, in the comfort of his home.

Born on March 12, 1960, in Danville, Illinois, to Ivan and Betty (Miles) Conrad, Ron lived a life full of love, passion, and adventure, leaving an unforgettable legacy for those who knew and loved him. Ron was a man of remarkable character—honorable, loyal, and deeply caring. His love for life was as loud and vibrant as the rumble of his Harley on an open road. Riding his Harley wasn’t just a hobby; it was a part of his soul. He found freedom and exhilaration in the roar of the engine, the wind rushing past, and the camaraderie of fellow riders. Those who rode with him knew the joy he found in every mile, and his stories of the road could light up a room.

Music was another passion that defined Ron's life. Whether it was the classic rock anthems that played as the soundtrack to his Harley rides or the tunes that filled his home during gatherings, music was his escape and his celebration. His love for good music was infectious, and his family and friends will forever remember the way he’d tap his foot, hum along, or turn up the volume just a little louder to share the moment with everyone around him.

Beyond his love for Harleys and music, Ron’s heart belonged to his family and friends. He was a man who showed his love in countless ways: cooking delicious meals for his loved ones, tending his vibrant garden with care, and always being there with a listening ear or helping hand.

His loyalty to those he cared for was unmatched, and his home was a place where laughter, warmth, and love were constants. Ron spent his career in the construction industry, where his dedication, skill, and integrity earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients. His work was a reflection of the kind of man he was—strong, reliable, and built to last.

On January 1, 2008, Ronald married his soulmate, Chris Conrad, in Danville, Illinois. Their love story was one of deep devotion, filled with laughter, adventure, and shared dreams. Though Chris preceded him in death, her memory was a constant source of strength and love for Ron.

He is survived by his loving mother, Betty Conrad; his devoted children, Krystal Conrad, Shane Lambert, Becky (Ron) Caudill, Paige Hayman, Nikki (Preston) Messer, Jessica Wrightsman, Alexis Wrightsman, and Zach Wrightsman; his siblings, Dwayne (Amber) Conrad and Rhonda (Howard) Lindley; eleven cherished grandchildren, Ava (Trey), Brynlee, Damien, Zoe Jane, Ayden, Zoe (Forrest), Aiden, Lucas, Emma, Caleb, and Violet; five beloved great-grandchildren, Luca, Novalynn, Odin, Otis, and Kylo; and a very close friend, Renee.

Ron was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Chris; his father, Ivan; three sons, Chance, Jeremey, and Bruce; his nephew, Dylan; and his beloved dog, Lily, who was a constant companion, a reminder of his gentle and caring spirit.

Ron’s life was a beautiful melody of love, laughter, and passion. His booming laugh, his loyalty to his friends, and his love for the loudest Harleys and the best music made him one of a kind. He was a man who lived boldly, loved fiercely, and left an impact that will never fade.

There will be a gathering of family and friends at Sanders Funeral Care, 203 S 1st Street, in Kingman, Indiana on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 12:00pm (EST) till the time of the memorial service at 1:00pm (EST) with Steve Crum officiating.

Cremation was entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services in La Porte, Indiana.

Ride on, Ron. May the roads in heaven be endless, the music always loud, and the love everlasting. You will forever remain in our hearts.
