Roger Downs January 21, 1946-November 10, 2016 Mr. Roger Downs, 70, of Michigan City, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Thursday November 10, 2016 at Advocate Christ Medical Center, Chicago, IL. A MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at the Three Oaks American Legion Post #204, Saturday September 16, 2017 at 12:00 pm EDT (11:00 am CDT). He was born January 21, 1946 in Los Angeles, California, the son of Melvin F. Downs and Grace J. (Hardy) Downs. Roger was a self-employed Sales person. He enjoyed flying, playing golf and socializing with people. He served in the Vietnam War as a paratrooper with the 101st Air Born Division of the US. Army. He is survived by his son, Jason; daughter, Jody; two brothers, Melvin F. (Nancy) Downs, Gary P. Downs; and sister, Elizabeth (Arthur) Schwartz; a very dear friend Susie O'Shea and many nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Nancy Fleck, and two brothers Jackie Downs and Larry Downs.
