Mr. Rodger D. Rameier, 62, of La Porte, Indiana, died Monday June 1, 2009 at La Porte Hospital in La Porte, IN. He was born May 24, 1947 in LaPorte, Indiana, the son of Myron L. Rameier and Frances A. Bierly Rameier. He lived in the LaPorte area, all of his life. Rodger worked as an automotive technician for Hirsch Ford in Michigan City, IN, he also worked at the Blue Chip Casino as a deckhand. He grew up working on the family owned Ideal Dairy Farm when he was young. He was a member of Stillwell Rod and Gun Club. Rodger's passion was trap shooting, wood-working and fishing. He loved spending time with his daughter and grandaughter. On June 14, 1969, in LaPorte, IN., he married Lorel Tieman, who preceded him in death on May 12, 2007. He is survived by his mother, Frances A. Rameier of LaPorte, IN.; daughter, Jennifer Rameier of La Porte, IN; grandaughter, Ashley Sardeson of LaPorte, IN; sister, Linda Derk J. Mellema of Nieuw Scheemda, The Netherlands, one niece and one nephew, several aunts, uncles and cousins, several great nieces and great nephews. Rodger was preceded in death by his father, Myron L. Rameier and wife, Lorel Rameier. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Thursday, June 4, 2009 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Friday, June 5, 2009 from 9:30 am, until time of service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Friday June 5, 2009 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Alex Stone officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana.
