Robert Eugene Watts January 6, 1930-August 13, 2014 Mr. Robert Eugene Watts, 84, of LaPorte, Indiana, died Wednesday August 13, 2014 at his home in LaPorte, IN. He was born January 6, 1930 in Walkerton, Indiana, the son of Dale Watts and Thelma (Stickley) Watts. Robert worked 16 years for Premdor and also worked at Allis Chalmers for 23 years. He was a Veteran of the US Army during the Korean War. Robert was a member of V.F.W. Post #1130 of LaPorte, American Legion Post #83 of LaPorte and the PNA Club. Robert enjoyed riding his bike. On June 19, 1953, in LaPorte, IN, he married Shirley (Krueger) Watts who preceded him in death May 23, 1999. He is survived by his three daughters, Sharon (Joe) Barnes of Plymouth, IN, Brenda Peterson of Plymouth, IN, Janet (Jesse) Stevens of LaPorte,, IN; two sons, Gary Watts of La Porte, IN, Kevin (Kim) Watts of La Porte, IN; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Norma Eddinger of Tyner, IN, Betty Kunke of Walkerton, IN, Bertha Walker of Walkerton, IN; two brothers, Dale Watts, Jr. of Bryon, OH, and Kenneth Watts of South Bend, IN. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters, one brother. Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Monday, August 18, 2014 from 10:00 am, until time of service. A life celebration will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Monday August 18, 2014 at 11:00 am with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, LaPorte, Indiana. Memorial contributions may be made to the Family of Robert Eugene Watts.
