Robert Stacy Sr.

Mr. Robert L. Stacy, Sr., age 86, of LaPorte, Ind., died Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at his home in La Porte, Ind. He was born March 30, 1922 in Willstacy, Kentucky to the late William Stacy and the late Nancy Fugate Stacy. He has lived in the LaPorte area for 57 years, coming from Willstacy, Kentucky. Mr. Stacy retired from Allis Chalmers in 1983. He had also worked at Studebaker of South Bend for 15 years. He was a member of the United Baptist Church of Michigan City. He was Veteran of US Army during WW II. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, loved being with family and grandchildren. On July 14, 1945 in North Judson, Indiana he married Gladys Stacy who survives. He is also survived by One Daughter, Ms. Margaret "Peg" Stacy of La Porte, Ind., Three Sons, Mr. Thomas Kathy Stacy of Union Mills, Ind.; Mr. James Darlene Stacy of Marysville, Calif., Mr. Robert Stacy, Jr. of Hartsville, Tenn., Seven grandchildren; and Eight great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., 602 Maple Ave., LaPorte, Ind., where the family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM Sunday, April 27, 2008 and from the United Baptist Church from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Monday April 28, 2008. Funeral service will be at United Baptist Church at 11:00 AM Monday, April 28, 2008, Pastor Fred Miller officiating. Interment will be at Rolling Prairie Cemetery in Rolling Prairie, Ind.
