Robert "Bob" Homer Shaw

Robert "Bob" Shaw, 78, of Knox, Indiana, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2024 at his home.
He was born June 20, 1945 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Walter J. Shaw and Charlotte M. (Berg) Shaw.
Bob graduated from La Porte High School and served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. A plumber by trade, he worked for a while for H&G Plumbing, retiring from Dye Plumbing and Heating. Bob loved to farm, loved his horses and country music. He collected and restored antique Allis Chalmers tractors, which he displayed at the county fair. When Bob married his second wife, Judy Ainsworth, he became involved in 4-H with his children, volunteering with the Horse and Pony Club and the La Porte County Drill Team. He and Judy were 25-year members of the Moose Club in La Porte, and with the family they enjoyed camping, trail riding, snowmobiling and bowling. After Judy's death, Bob met and married the late Linda Henoch Shaw on July 13, 2002 in Pioneer Land. Because of Bob's love for farming, they bought a farm in Knox, IN and spent 20 years there. Together they enjoyed dancing and eating out, especially at the Bass Lake Pub. In addition, Bob was a member of the VFW Post 748 in Knox., as well as the La Porte County Mounted Sheriff Posse. He also enjoyed duck, geese, deer hunting and raising Beagles.
He is survived by his daughters; Michelle (Dave) Looney of Northport, FL, Deanna (Dale) Wyatt of Cadiz, KY, Yvonne Curless of La Porte, IN, Lori (Jerry) Hamlin of La Porte, IN; two sisters, Lenore Howard of La Porte, IN, Rowena Meyers of Michigan City, IN; four grandchildren, Hannah Looney, Nicholas Curless, Aliesha Hohalek, Bryan Curless; six great-grandchildren, Lane Hohalek, Lyla Hohalek, Autumn Curless, Aiden Curless, Jericho Curless, Jay Curless
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife Judy Shaw on April 10, 2001; wife Linda Shaw on September 27, 2023; brothers, Elbert "Bill" Shaw and James Shaw.
Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN where the family will receive friends for a viewing on Thursday, March 7, 2024 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Cremation will take place, then burial at Door Village Cemetery at a later date.
