Robert Mcdaniels

Mr. Robert E. McDaniels, 81, of La Porte, Indiana, died Saturday June 26, 2010 at his home in La Porte. He was born August 29, 1928 in Sullivan County, Indiana, the son of William McDaniels and Mary E. Smith McDaniels. Robert worked as a press operator for Teledyne Casting Service for over 30 years and retired in 1991. After retirement he worked part time as a security guard for the Pinkerton Co. Robert was a veteran of the US Navy during WW II. He was a devoted loving husband and father and trusted in the Lord. He was a NASCAR fan and loved to watch old westerns. On June 14, 1948, in Green Co., IN, he married Lois M. Hollen McDaniels who preceded in death August 4, 2006. He is survived by his 4 sons - Robert Diane McDaniels of Phoenix, AZ, Jeffery McDaniels of La Porte, IN, Dale Kimberly McDaniels of Walkerton, IN, Steven McDaniels of La Porte, IN; 3 daughters - Brenda Vince Bolsega of Fish Lake Walkerton, IN, Kimberly Austin of La Porte, IN, Claudia Horner of La Porte, IN; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and a sister - Alfreda Perry of Fish Lake Walkerton, IN. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Arrangements are being handled by Haverstock Funeral Home, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, Ind. where the family will receive friends Tuesday, June 29, 2010 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm & Wednesday, June 30, 2010 12:00 noon until time of the service. Services will be held at Haverstock Funeral Home, Inc., Wednesday June 30, 2010 at 1:00 PM with Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. Interment will follow at the Pine Lake Cemetery, La Porte, Indiana.
