Robert Kennedy Sr.

Mr. Robert L. Kennedy Sr., 78, of 3495 S. CR 800 E. Fish Lake Walkerton, IN., died Oct. 29, 2004, at 12:15 pm. He was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Buchanan, MI, to Worth L. and Marie Fickle Kennedy, and has lived in the LaPorte area since 1940 coming from Glendora, MI. Mr. Kennedy was a supervisor for Allis Chalmers Corp. for 32 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement he worked at Whispering Pines Golf Course for 7 years and retired in 1993. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during W.W. II, a member of American Legion Post #400 of Fish Lake, 40 & 8, and Disabled Veteran of Michigan City, IN. On April 15, 1950, in LaPorte, IN., he married Evelyn Goethals who preceded in death Feb. 16, 2004. Also preceded in death was his parents; three brothers, Worth, John and Charles Kennedy. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Patricia A. Michael Ryan of Union Mills, IN., Mrs. Jo Marie Thomas Faulstich of Mishawaka, IN., Mrs. Jane H. John Bealor of Rolling Prairie, IN.; one son, Robert L. Kennedy Jr. of Fish Lake, IN.; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Josephine Ackerman of Bridgeman, MI.; and one brother, Jerry Kennedy of Fort Myers, Fl. The funeral will be Tues Nov. 2, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. C.S.T. at Haverstock Funeral Home, LaPorte, with the Rev. Ronald Devenport officiating. Friends may call Mon. from 1 to 8 p.m. CST and Tues. from 9 a.m. CST until the service. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery, Mill Creek, IN.
