Robert Q. Jonas, 83, of La Porte, Indiana, passed away Friday August 27, 2021 at  home with his sister at his side.

He was born June 17, 1938 in La Porte, Indiana, the son of Robert Touhey Jonas and Sara Helen (Decker) Jonas.

Robert, known to many as Quinn, graduated from St. Mary's Catholic in Michigan City and went on to earn his Bachelor of Business Administration from IU.  Proud of his business and numbers acumen, he moved to Pompano Beach, FL,  where he owned his own accounting firm.  Robert was a former JayCee and an accomplished trumpet player, playing in several bands over the years. He was a Miami Dolphins fan, a scuba diver and loved cats.  Robert was a faithful contributor to several charities, including the ASPCA, the Animal league of America and Alley Cat Allies.

Robert is survived by his sister, Marcia Johnson of La Porte, IN; niece, Katie (Bart) Geise of La Porte, IN; nephew, Ryan (Jaida) McKeever of Grand Junction, CO.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents and two sons.

Arrangements are being entrusted to Haverstock Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 602 Maple Ave., La Porte, IN. A private graveside service will be held at Door Village Cemetery.
